It was a productive day in the studio. I started making four mugs and four olive oil bottles. I felt a bit off my rhythm since I haven't made any pottery in over three weeks, and my clay was extra stiff. Bmix clay can be so finicky once it dries out. I am also trying to remember the new throwing technique I picked up just before my vacation and the flood. It uses knuckles instead of the sponge to move clay upwards while throwing. I am hopeful it will come back to me once I start making pots again.

We will be getting another update on the studio tomorrow, and lining up our new kilns. The new kiln set up sounds pretty exciting so far. Our kilns are the lifeblood to the ceramics process. Without them, our pottery would never be more than mud - no matter how beautiful. Let that soak in... we can spend up to three weeks on any given pot giving it life, and still until it goes through the kiln it can almost immediately be turned into a pile of mud.

Anyways, tomorrow is a new day and we've got projects on the docket. It's a wonder what having marching orders will do for the psyche.
